A number of outpatient treatment options are available.  The following services are available in Pike County:

 

Medical detoxification is available locally at Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, Ky.  The Fountain of Hope Medical Detoxification Unit offers medication-assisted detox services on an outpatient basis that allows individuals to begin the first step of recovery.  The program usually lasts two weeks.  In addition to medication assisted detox, the program introduces patients to the 12-step process and assists in patients in developing a follow-up plan.  The telephone number is (606)218-4686.

WestCare Kentucky provides long-term, residential treatment in Pike County.  The Pike County facility is licensed for 72 clients.  This adult substance abuse treatment program requires a minimum 90-day stay, with an average 120-day stay.  The telephone number is (606)754-7077.

Many faith-based organizations offer treatment or other programs designed to help the addicted individual.  Teen Challenge provides services for adults and youth with centers throughout the USA.  In Clay County, Kentucky, Teen Challenge offers Chad's Hope, a 12-month residential facility for young men.  The phone number is (606) 599-9716.  In Athens, West Virginia (only 81 miles from Pikeville), Teen Challenge offers long-term residential care for facilities for men and women at the Appalachian Teen Challenge Center.  The contact for the admissions office is (304) 384-3307 or 384-9074, at ext. 308.

Hebron Colony Ministries offers 10 week faith-based residential services at no charge.  The Hebron Colony offers a program for males in Boone, North Carolina.  Interested persons should call (828) 963-4842.  Located near Santee, South Carolina, Grace Home offers programming for people.  Grace Home can be reached at (803) 854-9809.

Operation UNITE offers a treatment referral line (1-866-908-6483 ) for anyone seeking assistance with drug addition.  The line is available Monday - Friday, 8 a.m - 5 p.m.  Information is also available for the voucher program, which assists low-income individuals obtain treatment.
